The Faculty of Social Sciences is now a stand- alone Faculty, following a University re- engineering Project in 2021, which saw the then Faculty of Social Sciences and Law split into three faculties.
This new Faculty now comprises three departments, namely: the Department of Political Sciences, the Department of Sociology and Social Work, and the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies.
The Faculty provides students with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior, society, politics, and the dynamics that influence social change. The faculty equips students with the knowledge and skills to address pressing social issues, contributing positively to society's development. The Faculty of Social Sciences offers a wide range of programs that provide students with the theoretical foundations and practical applications needed to understand and address key social issues. Through its diverse curriculum, students are equipped to make meaningful contributions to areas like social work, politics, sociology, and peace studies.
