University of Sierra Leone

Faculty of Communication, Media and Information Studies

This is a new faculty largely drawn out of the traditional Faculty of Arts. The then Institute of Library Information and Communication Studies (INSLICS) and the Department of Mass Communication which have considerably grown and expanded over the years were brought together to constitute a new Faculty with rebranded departments to respond to the emerging needs in the fields of communication, media, data management and information sciences.

The Faculty of Communication, Media, and Information Studies at Fourah Bay College offers specialized programs designed to equip students with skills in journalism, media, public relations, and information management. The faculty prepares graduates for careers in print and broadcast journalism, digital communication, and information studies.
