University of Sierra Leone

Faculty of Laws

The Faculty  of Laws at Fourah Bay College   is one of the three new faculties that emerged out of the University's re-engineering Project in 2021. It was a graduation for the Faculty, as it had been a department under the old Faculty for what was considered a long overdue period.

The new Faculty has two departments, namely: the Department of Law and the Department of Criminal Justice.

The Faculty is dedicated to delivering world-class legal education that shapes students into well-rounded legal professionals. Through its rigorous curriculum, the faculty ensures that students acquire both theoretical knowledge of law and practical legal skills necessary for excelling in the legal profession. The Faculty emphasizes ethical practice, social responsibility, and the ability to analyze and apply laws in a dynamic global environment.

The LL.B program prepares students for a range of legal careers including private practice, the judiciary, corporate law, and public service. With a diverse body of faculty members and a supportive learning environment, the faculty instills a strong sense of justice, fairness, and human rights in its students.
